O’Brien Gantry Crane Solutions

Gantry cranes and overhead bridge cranes are often confused, because both solutions typically employ a single or double girder running along two beams. The difference is how the cranes are mounted. An overhead bridge crane is supported by the facility’s structure – the crane’s beams are secured to the walls, ceiling and/or building supports. 

A gantry crane is “free standing”. The gantry and beams sit on a set of legs or a single leg that is part of the crane structure.
