Overhead Bridge Crane Selection – Check Out What We Have in Store For You
Overhead bridge cranes are ideal for lifting the heaviest loads. Whether you need a standard, modified, or custom-engineered overhead bridge crane, our expert crane design and installation teams will work together to ensure you get the right crane installed professionally and quickly to ensure your business runs smoothly.
Many of our overhead bridge crane offerings come in single and double girder designs, allowing you to choose your ideal combination of lift capability and hook height.
- Top-running overhead cranes – our most effective lifting solution, available in single, double and box girder designs for maximum lift and flexibility.
- Under-running overhead cranes – ideal for sites with low headroom, single and double girder designs available.
- Custom overhead cranes – when there’s no way your overhead bridge crane needs can come out of the box, O’Brien can design a custom solution to meet your requirements for lift capacity, lift speed, space considerations and safety requirements.
- Monorails – while most overhead bridge crane designs feature a girder running over two beams, a monorail system runs on a single beam. This can allow for greater speed and flexibility in load movement. While monorail cranes are typically designed to move lighter loads, special designs can be designed to lift up to 25 tons.
O’Brien Gantry Crane Solutions
Gantry cranes and overhead bridge cranes are often confused, because both solutions typically employ a single or double girder running along two beams. The difference is how the cranes are mounted. An overhead bridge crane is supported by the facility’s structure – the crane’s beams are secured to the walls, ceiling and/or building supports.
A gantry crane is “free standing”. The gantry and beams sit on a set of legs or a single leg that is part of the crane structure.

Chain Hoist and Cable Hoist Selections
No effective lifting solution is complete without a hoist. And when it comes to reliable and efficient chain hoist and cable hoist selections (and even pneumatic hoists!), O’Brien has what you need.
Our manual chain hoist systems are the workhorses of hoists, helping operators lift and shift heavy loads with ease. Our selection of world-class Kito hoists offer a range of advantages, with spark-resistant options, hoists that work perfectly in low headroom, and hoists designed for exceptional lifting performance in harsh environments.
O’Brien’s selection of electric chain hoist systems from Kito and Street Crane boost your lifting capability. Ideal for lifting lighter loads frequently, our electric chain hoist selection offers a choice of 110V, 115V, or 220V solutions, variable speed drives, and even food-grade operation compatibility.
Chain hoist not what you need? Take a look at our powerful electric wire rope (cable) hoists. A great pairing with an overhead bridge crane or gantry crane, our electric wire rope hoists are capable of lifting heavy loads with precision.
