Job Summary:

The Shop Electrician will be responsible for planning and completing the assembly and testing of all new equipment, determining the layout of electrical equipment for functionality and serviceability. Maintain constant communication with Engineering, aid in design and process improvement. He/She will install, maintain tests, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment within the Plant facility and or cranes being manufactured in the Plant.

Duties and Responsibilities

As the Shop Electrician, your duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to),

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code
  • Determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Crane assembly and wiring of new cranes
  • Layout design
  • Conduit work
  • Radio control
  • Accessories, limits/anti collision
  • Panel building
  • Jib control panels
  • Lightning heating panels
  • Retrofitting custom panels
  • Assisting with electrical issues for the Engineering, Service and Door departments
  • Building equipment maintenance ie Lighting, heating, tools and trailers
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Maintain electrical stock levels for common electrical component s and record usage
  • Electrical inspections, data tags, fuse charts, one/one with inspector
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Licensed Industrial Electrician
  • Minimum 7 years working experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Must be able to work well independently as well as a member of a team
  • Fast paced environment – must be able to work well under pressure
  • Able to read blueprints and engineering drawings

Working Conditions:

  • Working in a Plant Manufacturing environment
  • May be required to work at heights
  • Hazards associated with the trade

Prerequisites:

  • Accounting Designation Preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills

Duties and Responsibilities

As the Accounting Controller, your duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to),

  • Responsible for the financial reporting of the Company including all of its divisions across Canada
  • Issuing Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP by the deadlines established
  • Financial Analysis, including cost analysis, cost / benefit analysis and continually assessing cost
    savings opportunities
  • Review Agreements and Contracts to ensure the Company’s exposure, areas of risk and key
    points are highlighted and addressed
  • Ensure all company charge-out rates (and associated costs) are current
  • Prepare Annual Financial Budgets for all divisions in Canada (Sales, Capital Expenditure, Cost,
    etc)
  • Work with the Department Managers and your direct report to Prepare Sales Forecasts for all divisions in Canada
  • Prepare periodic Agent Sales and Commission Reports
  • Ensure Accounts Receivable Aging is current
  • Ensure KPI are met or on track and responsible for reporting these
  • Periodic Reporting Requirements (Sales Analysis, Non-Productive Labour, Weekly Variance
    Report, Shop / Install Labour Overage Report)
  • Run Weekly Sales Reports (backlog, outstanding quotes, new orders)
  • Primary point of contact with external IT company
    • Responsible for on-boarding and off-boarding of staff (new hires and departures)
  • Create and generate Jet Reports as required from time to time.
  • Assist with providing financial support for the annual SRED claim
  • Manage the Capital Request process
  • Maintain banking relationships and ensure reporting compliance
  • Review and Approve all Expense Reports
  • Oversee the Company’s transaction processing systems:
    • Identify weaknesses and inefficiencies in the Company’s existing systems and processes
      and make formal recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee Foreign Contracts and update Company Foreign exchange rates on a regular basis
  • Lead the implementation of future ERP upgrade and any other software applications / additions
  • Other responsibilities, as required from time to time

This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer of O’Brien Lifting Solutions Inc.

  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work

Qualifications:

  • 2- 3 year’s experience in servicing overhead cranes
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Travel by vehicle to job sites daily and utilize expertise to determine the extent of repairs required.
  • Inspect and complete repairs of door or dock equipment as per work order.
  • Able to work after regular business hours in order to respond to service calls.
  • Remain current on door and dock industry products and services.
  • Accurately complete daily timesheets and inspection reports.
  • Ensure O’Brien’s and customer’s safety policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Resolve emergency breakdown situations promptly and professionally.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Desire to further develop mechanical skills and learn new techniques to work more efficiently.
  • Communicate with Manager if a problem occurs or the scope of work changes.
  • Help maintain and upkeep inventory on company truck and have knowledge and understanding of parts.
  • Must be able to work in fast pace environments without sacrificing safety and quality.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
